CNN anchor Michael Smerconish poured cold water on Democrats’ enthusiasm for their “almost invisible” running mate, Vice President Kamala Harris, warning that she is not “invincible” and will eventually be “held accountable” for the data her and her political positions.

Smerconish attacked Harris on Saturday for refusing to submit to tough questions from reporters about what he would do as president since he was handed the nomination last month.

His comments were reported by news site Mediaite.

“So far, Harris has had a free ride,” Smerconish said. “She has not given any interview to the media, she has not faced the voters’ question.”

“Sooner or later, she will be held accountable and face the pressure she has so far largely avoided,” Smerconish said.

Smerconish also called for greater scrutiny of Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who may turn out to “have as many warts as [Ohio Sen.] JD Vance.”

He cited a recent CNN report that found Walz’s 2006 campaign for a congressional seat made false statements about the details of his 1995 drunken and reckless driving arrest. .
