Anchor ABC News George Stephanopoulos reportedly said his interview after debate with former President Joe Biden was “close heartily”.
Chris Whipple’s new book, entitled “Uncharted: As Trump beat Biden, Harris, and chances in the most outrageous campaign in history”, which was released on Tuesday, confessed to post-scenes conflicts between Democratic Party members and Biden Administration if Biden needed to get out of his race after his debate Donal June.
To “establish the bleeding” of Democrats who began to publicly call for Biden replacement in the ticket, Whipple wrote about how the White House accepted an interview with the “this week” on July 5 to secure the public for the president’s candidacy.
Whipple described Biden as “harsh and semi -coherent” throughout the interview and said Stephanopoulos was disappointed.
“Stephanopoulos asked the president gently as a nephew,” Whipple wrote. “Then, when I asked the ABC anchor with email for his impressions, he replied: ‘Breaking up nearby.” “
Fox News Digital arrived at Stephanopoulos’s team for comment.
Stephanopoulos had a similar answer in a video shared by TMZ just days after the interview when asked by a man on the street if Biden had to withdraw.
“I don’t think he can serve another four years,” Stephanopoulos replied.
An ABC News spokesman told Fox News Digital at the time Stephanopoulos was expressing “his point of view and not the position of ABC News”.
Biden’s answers in Stephanopoulos’s interview mainly failed to calm the storm for his debate performance.
Biden at one point suggested he was doing the “best work” he defeated, according to the ABC News transcript.
He also seemed somewhat unsafe when asked if he would see his debate performance, saying, “I don’t think I did it, no.”
Biden officially left the race on July 21, less than three weeks after his interview in ABC.
