“Real Time” host Bill Maher closed his show on Friday evening offering an open message to his conservative fans asking why he has not joined the political right while rejecting the left hug.
“Let me give you the short answer: because I don’t want to live in North Korea,” Maher told them.
“Kim Jong-un has state stenographers who follow him everywhere and write his genius ideas in their notebooks and applause. Well, the Republicans, this is now!”
Maher listed examples of Republicans going to great lengths to honor President Donald Trump not to rename the DC DC International Airport after him to a draft law, adding his face to the mountain.
He also called on their iconic Trump dance hug and the group of supporters dressed as Trump outside the court during his trial for money payments.
He singled out the Secretary of Trade Howard Lutnick as an example of Republicans spoken as Trump “with crazy, over-top exaggerations.”
“And these bills that they have introduced to make Trump’s birthday a holiday and placed it in the currency and the Rumitian mountain- this is not what we do here, guys!” Shouted Maher.
“He is still in office for the sake of God. Can we see how it results before we put it on a stamp?”
“If I admit that there is a level of derangemin Trump syndrome on the left, will you admit that this is also damaged?” Asked Maher.
“All people on the right who say they certainly disagree with me for everything, but they respect the way I keep it really for the left and I like it because I’m honest. Well, it’s a two -way street. Are you honest?”
The HBO host suggested that the people around Trump are very cowardly to correct him when he is wrong, pointing out when Trump claimed during his Congress address he found $ 8 million in federal funds that were divided for “transgender mice”, insisting he was actually “transgenic mice” used for hormone treatment research.
“So I know, my friends Republican, when you hear” culture, “you roll your eyes. But let me add one thing to what you might not have heard,” Maher later.
“You know that a cult is really a cult when the leader asks you to turn on friends and family because they are the only ones that are a threat to deprive you. Maher continued to sound the alarm against Trump’s supporters as Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo, and the “War House” host Steve lives on comments legitimizing the idea of a third term Trump, insisting he will not stop with them.
“And you know, you just know that soon the whole Republican Party will be on this site,” Maher said.
“Okay, there is no fuzzy about it. As clear as one, two, three. The presidents get two terms, no more, no matter how wonderful they are. It is written in black and white in the Constitution. Guys, you know this is wrong. You know in your heart, this is the moment Rome stops being a republic.
