Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer found himself in the hot place after MSNBC’s Chris Hayes made him sit through a montage of Democratic Party leaders by slamming his surprise vote in favor of the Republican spending law.
Looking through his trademark glasses, Schumer sat down by criticism by prominent Democrats who accused him of giving up party levers voting through the GOP bill.
â € œ they [Republicans] will not negotiate with us! “Schumer said in defense on Tuesday during” all with Chris Hayes.
Hayes told Schumer to “hear”, mentioning that criticism did not come from the drivers of the reconciliation drivers, “but from big figures as the minority leader of the Hakeem Jefferies house, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Sen. Chris Murphy, Pennsylvania Gov and former Nancy Pelosi house.
“I think there is a deep sense of anger and betrayal, and this is not just about progressive Democrats. This is all over the board, the whole party, -Ocasio-cortez said about Schumer’s vote, in a clip played by Hayes.
In another video included in Montage, Jefferies said he disagreed with Schumerâ â € œPandoach and the result.â €
“I would like to see when Chuck Schumer had a lever here to say that we need one, B, C and D for the Democratic Party, and forced the Republicans to meet him halfway for those issues,” Shapiro said in another clip.
Pelosi seemed to make fun of Schumer’s negotiation tactics, saying, “I, I do not give her anything for nothing, and I think she is what happened the next day.
Murphy said while he still supports Schumer as leaders of the Senate Minority, he thinks “the only way we will be effective as a group is if we change our tactics.”
Schumer continued to defend his choice, arguing that “choosing a closure was so heavy – you are giving them keys to the city.”
“It would be good if we had a third choice,” he told Hayes. â € in Senate the only two elections were these elections, ”he added, referring to the decision to close the government or avoid a closure.
Schumer has faced extensive criticism – from members of the room’s party party and the Senate to the comedians and news hosts for voters – for his support for the GOP bill, which many have decreed as evidence of poor negotiation skills.
But he argued that it was most important to avoid a closure of the government.
“If you don’t have a closing, you can go to court and we’ve had some successful court results,” Schumer said. â € œshutdown. No court. they [Republicans] Make the decision, and they can do it quickly, easily and throughout the federal government.â €
